EXCAVATOR OPERATOR
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend daily safety meeting
Sign for machine key (Key control)
Remove lockout
Do pre-use inspection as per the pre use checklist of the machine
Do not work closer than 10m from the high wall, unless making safe under supervision
While waiting for trucks, loosen material
Load and tip as per standard.
At the end of shift switches off the machine.
Clean the machine after use
Perform lockout procedure
Hand machine key in, under signature.
Maintain following distances at all times
When equipment is not in use it must be locked out as per procedure
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education: Grade 12
More than 5 years’ Experience as a competent operator
Valid Skills Certificate of competence from registered training facility – Excavator
Physical requirements : Medically fit
Knowledge of earth moving equipment
Familiar with Safety Regulations
Working with mechanical tools
Good Communication Skills
Teamwork and co-operation.
Be able to read and write English
Good listening skills.
Knowledge of Company policies and procedures
Must be able to function in a team
